PECULIARITIES OF TRANSLATING POLITICAL PHRASEOLOGISMS IN SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION

Abstract

This article analyzes the peculiarities of translating political phra­seology in simultaneous translation. It studies the linguistic, cultural and prag­matic factors that affect the interpretation of stable expressions in politi­cal discourse. The article describes the main strategies for translating political phra­seology – equivalent translation, functional substitution, compensation and explanatory translation. It also emphasizes the importance of prior prepa­ra­tion, extensive contextual knowledge and rapid cognitive processing to en­su­re the accuracy and adequacy of the translation of political discourse.
