TRANSLATION OF CHINESE GRAMMATICAL TERMINOLOGY INTO UZBEK: PROBLEMS AND THE ISSUE OF STANDARDIZATION

Abstract

The steadily developing cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China in all spheres has led to a growing demand for qualified and competent specialists in the fields of Chinese language and Sinology. This, in turn, increases the relevance of translation issues between the two languages. The translation of Chinese linguistic terminology into Uzbek is no exception and requires a high level of responsibility.

Typological differences between the Uzbek and Chinese languages are among the main factors that complicate this task. In this study, the issue of translating Chinese linguistic terminology into Uzbek is examined through the lens of the gradual development of linguistic disciplines in China, namely in the sequence of writing, phonetics, and grammar, which is considered an appropriate analytical approach.
