TRANSLATION – A SYNTHESIS OF SCIENCE AND ART

Abstract

The article states that the translation of poetry belongs to a se­pa­rate category of translation, because the genre of poetry, due to its cha­rac­te­ris­tics, requires special attention and approach from the translator. A poetic work has a complex, clearly formulated structure and writing rules, because the po­et sets himself the goal of expressing his idea, enclosing it in a specific special fra­mework. The article provides an analysis of poetic works, reasoning about words that have a problem in the translation process and provides several translations of the author of the article.
