Abstract

This article analyzes Malay idiomatic expressions (peribahasa) used in the context of family and upbringing. For each peribahasa, its meaning, cultural context, and Uzbek equivalent are provided. The study demonstrates how the family values of Malay and Uzbek peoples—as well as their views on parents, children, and kinship relations—are reflected in stable idiomatic expressions.
