This academic article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, complications, and modern methods of treatment of acute appendicitis. The relevance of the disease is determined by its widespread prevalence and the possibility of serious complications if not diagnosed in a timely manner. The article examines the anatomical and physiological features of the appendix, the causes of the disease, diagnostic algorithms, including instrumental examinations, as well as conservative and surgical approaches. Attention was also paid to the issues of prevention and preventive measures of the appendix, as well as postoperative care. This analysis will serve as a basis for making effective decisions in clinical practice.
